InStep - Help

Mouse Behavior

The mouse has some special functionality, depending on the current tool or environment it is being used in:

Main InStep application:

- Left Mouse Button (LMB): Used to select bodies, press buttons and (if pressed and held while moving) rotation of the object in the 3D display.
- Right Mouse Button (RMB): Used to Pan the 3D display (if held and dragged) or used to bring up the dialog in the tree menu.
- Middle Mouse Button (MMB): Used for Zoom in the 3D display (if held and dragged) or to set the rotation point in the 3D display.

Dynamic Transform Tool:

- Normal mouse operation in the 3D Display unless Shift+LMB is used in which case the dynamic motion is applied according to the motion of the mouse.

Surface Repair Environment:

- Same Rotate/Pan/Zoom/Center behavior as in the Main InStep application.
- LMB on an entity selects it (if filter allows it)
- LMB+Shift on a selected entity de-selects it.
- RMB on the label in the right hand bottom corner (when a location/length/area) is displayed copies the (exact) value to the clipboard.
- RMB Double-Click on the label (with data being displayed) copies the value and pastes it into a temporary notepad file (which is deleted upon exiting the application).
